The Big Chop

I did it. I had my permed hair cut out. I have about four inches of natural hair.  Keisha, my natural hair care stylist, is very encouraging. I decided to get two-strand twists. I have received a lot of compliments since I chopped off my hair. I also feel very care free. I just run my fingers through my hair in the morning and go. I don’t have to worry about flat ironing or wrapping my hair. I have a bald spot in the right side of my head. I am going to a dermatologist to get my hair to grow back in that spot. About 6 years ago, I went to an African Hair Gallery to get braids. It must have been too much stress on my edges because two of the braids on the right side of my temple just broke off. My hair has never grown back in that spot. I have a little patch of thin hair there, but that’s it. I am considering sister locs, but right now, I just want to have my natural hair out. I want to grow an afro because I see some beautiful afros when I am out and about.
